´╗┐System-wide change can be daunting without a clear plan. In this session, administrators and teacher leaders leverage school improvement frameworks, 5 system levers, and site data to develop personalized theories of action. Leaders will leave the session with a clear plan for data gathering, strategic planning, and change management to continue the school improvement process in their home districts.

8:30 - 10:00 - The 5 Levers for System Improvement

10:15 - 11:15 - Using Data to Build the Case for Change

11:15 - 12:00 - Lunch

12:00 - 1:30 - Developing Theories of Action

Presented by:

Dr. Joanna Lein is the Executive Director of the Teaching & Leading Initiative of Oklahoma and an adjunct professor at OU-Tulsa and Johns Hopkins University. She has coached over 250 novice teachers in a variety of school environments. Prior to starting this organization, Dr. Lein was the assistant superintendent in Cleveland, Oklahoma, where she supervised principals and led the curriculum and instruction work. She holds a doctorate from OU-Tulsa where she studied novice teacher development, specifically how to build competence in beginning teachers through instructional coaching.

The Teaching & Leading Initiative of Oklahoma (TLI) is a nonprofit professional development training organization that was established to address the human capital needs in Oklahoma school. TLI emphasizes best instructional practices and builds technical skills in novice teachers and the leaders that support them. The professional learning model is based on research (i.e. Joyce & Showers, 2002; Lein, 2017) that emphasizes practice and consistent follow up. Since meals, presenters, training materials, and other costs are pre-paid by OSAC, please provide notice of cancellation at least 4 days prior to any OSAC event you are registered to attend. Your district will not be charged for cancellations made within 4 days of the event. Cancellations within 48 hours of an OSAC event will be charged at half price. No-shows will be charged at full price. Thank you for understanding!
