Presented by:

Dr. Joanna Lein is the Executive Director of the Teaching & Leading Initiative of Oklahoma and an adjunct professor at OU-Tulsa and Johns Hopkins University. She has coached over 200 novice teachers in a variety of school environments. Prior to starting this organization, Dr. Lein was the assistant superintendent in Cleveland, Oklahoma where she supervised principals and led the curriculum and instruction work. She holds a doctorate from OU-Tulsa where she studied novice teacher development, specifically examining how to build competence in beginning teachers through instructional coaching.

Target Audience:

Novice teachers and teachers who want to strengthen their classroom management skills to improve teaching and learning.

Purpose:

The goal of this two-day intensive is to ensure that teachers have the foundational knowledge, skills, and mindsets to enter the classroom to take on basic student behaviors and take a proactive approach to teaching and reinforcing behaviors. Teachers will review some of the basic routines that are required to teach in the first days of school and ensure that they know the processes for teaching these routines.
