These sessions are perfect for you!

In our continued commitment to provide our members the highest quality professional development, OSAC is proud to partner with one of the leading trainers of school administrators, Dr. Judi Barber. 

Beginning principals, and teachers wishing to become principals, will experience the details and decisions that principals deal with each day, the role of an instructional leader, communication strategies and much more!  Each session includes a guest speaker to provide additional insight and information.

This series is designed for participants to attend ALL sessions*

Purposes:

  • To examine in depth the specific aspects of a school principal’s job
  • To provide a foundation for the role of a school principal
  • To network with other beginning principals
  • To lay out plans for creating a strong culture directed at student learning
  • To practice leading collaborative learning to build the capacity of teachers
  • To practice strategies and resources to use in school leadership
  • To hold conversations throughout the year about topics you “are running into”

Presenter:

The session will be led by Dr. Judi Barber. Dr. Barber has been in education for 52 years and has served in a variety of roles. She has served as a teacher’s aide, physical education instructor, classroom teacher, team leader, curriculum consultant, arts-in-education coordinator and served as a principal for 19 years after which she served as a Director of Curriculum and Instruction in a

large district. During those years, she also taught at The University of Oklahoma as a special instructor and adjunct professor. Dr. Barber’s influence is ongoing. She has not only inspired legions of teachers, students, and administrators, but her work throughout the state to assist other school districts has resulted in award-winning gains in the quality of collaboration, staff development, planning, and student achievement.Dr. Barber is a member of the Oklahoma Educators’ Hall of Fame

Cost:

$400 per person for OSAC districts

$600 per person for non-member districts

Price includes all 5 sessions, so only $80 per day!

Cancellation Policy:

Since meals, presenters, training materials, and other costs are pre-paid by OSAC, please provide notice of cancellation at least 4 days prior to any OSAC event you are registered to attend. Your district will not be charged for cancellations made within 4 days of the event. Cancellations within 48 hours of an OSAC event will be charged at half price. No-shows will be charged at full price. Thank you for understanding!
