Presenter:

Pam Henley, MEd, reading specialist and certified academic language therapist, has trained teachers across the state. She has been an educator for over 30 years. She has taught Pre-K through college level. She is a reading specialist and a certified academic language therapist. Pam has been a conference speaker for over 25 years. She has been a literacy consultant and a professional development speaker conducting school-wide and small group workshops, seminars, and embedded coaching.



Purpose:

Power Grammar – Who knew the important role grammar plays in comprehension? We now understand grammar is not just important for composition, but it also enhances the understanding of text. Learn how to teach the basic grammar skills through a fun and multisensory approach that benefits all learning in elementary grades. (PK-6th Grade )

 

Word Study – Ditch the lists!! We really cannot teach children how to spell every word in the English Language! Participants will learn how to build strong spellers (and readers) through fun and engaging word study activities!



Target Audience:

Kdg. - 6th Grade Reading Teachers or Classroom Teachers, Reading Specialists, SpEd Teachers, Administrators

Cost:

$175 - OSAC Members

$225- Non-members.
