Fluency/Comprehension Overview
Fluent reading is a hallmark of strong readers and is a good predictor of reading comprehension. Learn fun and engaging ways to develop fluent readers of all ages. Taken from research in Dr. Tim Rasinski’s book: Developing Fluent Readers. Learn multisensory strategies that students can use in both fiction and nonfiction, that will take them from “word calling” to comprehension. Purpose:
To help educators identify the components needed to address reading difficulties for students at all grade levels and develop a cohesive, district-wide plan to provide teachers and other professionals with effective strategies and tools needed to improve reading skills. empowering ALL students to reach their full literacy potential
