Science of Reading/Dyslexia Overview
Discover the process that students walk through as they learn to read and write and the process that teachers MUST use to teach students to read and write. This presentation will cover how the brain reads, the five components of effective reading programs and best practices in teaching them. Dyslexia affects approximately 20% of the population. Learn the basics and what can and needs to be done in the classroom. Purpose:
To help educators identify the components needed to address reading difficulties for students at all grade levels and develop a cohesive, district-wide plan to provide teachers and other professionals with effective strategies and tools needed to improve reading skills. empowering ALL students to reach their full literacy potential
